Commonsense sytems is supported by a group of Associates covering a wide range of business skills.

We work under contract as individual companies or in association with members of our group of associates. In the latter case work is co-ordinated by one dedicated associate who will sub contract work on an as necessary basis within our group.

Main background experience has been in engineering and quality assurance in the Electronic Component Industries, with large companies but also with small businesses including Sales and Marketing offices in the UK.
Work experience has included the development or upgrading of systems prior to registration to meet standards for example. ISO 9001:2000 and ISO TS 16949:2002. Support can be offered during the setting up/ conversion/ development or change of Management/ Quality Assurance Systems.
Experience includes facilitation at EFQM assessment sessions, Customer Surveys, Data analysis and reporting.

John Caton Associates :

A versatile management consultant with particular experience in capital programme management, quality and supply chain management, strategic planning and related I.T. systems implementation. Particular experience of research based industries, the public sector, fast moving consumer goods and transport.

Extensive experience of the development and implementation of policy, systems and procedures in programme and production management. Experience of documentation, training and support in information systems. Experience of related methodologies including ISO 9001:2000, EFQM and PRINCE 2. Development and implementation of strategic plans and planning systems and procedures. Forecasting of facility performance and manpower requirements. Planning of inputs, outputs and reliability.

Good communication and presentation skills. Confidence in dealing with customers, suppliers and in-house staff at all levels and in all functions. Development and presentation of training programmes in capital programme management and supply chain systems. Author of published articles on quality management, project management and e-commerce.

Experienced in consultancy operations and business development with UK and European public sector clients, particularly in regard to transport and communications industries and EU directive compliance. Coordination of project control aspects of EU research and development programmes. Good understanding of the working of government at all levels.
